Excellent hidden gem inside Chelsea market enjoyed ceviche and shrimp tacos as well as guac and clams! Good prices good food! Nice outdoor space to sit. Quick service long line
I love Los Tacos but wanted fish tacos...Los Mariscos is great!!! Fresh tacos and the oysters were perfect as was my margarita! Indoor is small but on a good day, eat outside. I never tire of it! Perfect summer snack!
This is the underrated sister location to Los Tacos in Chelsea Market. One of the best snacks in the city is their shrimp ceviche tostada in a refreshing salsa verde for under $10. They also serve Palomas and beers here! The line tends to be a little bit shorter at Los Mariscos versus Los Tacos and they have more seating available making this a better option for a Chelsea market lunch break in my opinion.
After being delighted by our first Los Tacos No 1 experience, we headed to Los Mariscos for our last food stop before leaving NYC. We ate it on the bus, so my memories are a bit blurry. The ceviche especial ($7.50) was delicious! I loved the crispy tostada and the savory citrusy flavors. I think there could've been a higher seafood:vegetable ratio, but the flavors and textures made up for the sparse amount of seafood. I tried the tacos a bit past their peak, but they were still pretty good. Overall I think I prefer the meats I had at Los Tacos, but it's hard to compare since I didn't have the seafood tacos fresh. I definitely want to return and dine in!
Short version: best fish tacos in NYC, get the green aguachile if you like it really spicy.. definitely order a margarita. If you're really into Mexican seafood, cocteles, aguachiles...this is a great spot. The two popular spots in Jackson Heights can't compete with Los Mariscos. Everything here is so fresh. The crispy tortillas??? When other Mexican restaurants are using the supermarket ones, these are freshly made. L was waiting to pick up our order and saw the lady making them. You can ask for more. We had 3 rounds since we didn't want everything at once. It's more convenient to pick up food if you sit at the barstools with the tiny counters. The indoor tables are always taken. First round.. fish taco, enchilado taco, especial ceviche. Margarita on the rocks for me, michelada for L. I love fried fish.. my first bite.. I wasn't even sure it was fish, it was fried so well. It tasted fancier than your typical fish taco. It was so sweet, not dry, lots of slaw. Lil messy but there are tons of napkins nearby. The enchilado taco was good too. This is probably the best fish taco you'll ever have...in NYC, let's be real, it's in NYC, stop comparing it to other cities. $5 a taco is actually not expensive nowadays. Tacos cost $4+ at a Queens food truck! Ceviche was just okay since everything we had was just so good. We prefer ceviche on its own, no tostada. L loved his michelada. I don't drink beer so it was good but not for me. Second round.. spicy mezcal margarita, 2 more fish tacos, mixed coctel. margaritas here.. better than a lot of Mexican restaurants in the city and $14. We could taste cucumber in it.. They're not weak either. Mixed Coctel isn't as sweet as the ones in Queens so definitely plus. Just a bit small. They add celery to it which adds a nice crunch. The flavor isn't too strong. Third round was to go. L ordered the shrimp coctel and another mixed one as well. Also had the watermelon agua frescas. I didn't like it cuz it's just a watered down watermelon juice for $5... I'd rather get undiluted juice...whatever he enjoyed his overpriced water. I've recommended this place to others and everyone's loved it. Great spot for food and drinks.
I accidentally stumbled into Los Mariscos after grabbing a taco from Los Tacos in Chelsea Market and it's safe to say that it was a happy accident! The service was quick and friendly. It took about less than 10 minutes for my order to be ready. There's also plenty of indoor seating so I didn't have to fight for a spot. I ordered one fish taco and one shrimp taco, both with everything, and it was delicious! It wasn't over-battered, well-seasoned, and the salsas hit the spot. I devoured both tacos in probably less than a few minutes. Definitely recommend stopping by here if you're in the area!
Los Tacos No. 1 is my favorite taco spot. When I found out about this seafood version of their restaurant, I knew I had to try it. Especial Ceviche - Love the crunchy tortilla bottom and creamy avocado slices on top. Very refreshing. Fish Taco - The fish was so fresh and fried perfectly. Absolutely delicious. Spicy Shrimp Taco - Not too spicy. So flavorful and tasty. It's awesome that Los. Tacos No. 1 is right next door, too. Next time, I'll grab a chicken taco before heading over for another shrimp and fish taco.
I've eaten at both Los Tacos and Los Mariscos multiple times. Both have a great selection of tacos to choose from and space/decor is always spot whichever location you go to. But I lean more towards Los Mariscos. Los Mariscos offers an assortment of seafood dishes most especially tacos which are always spot on with the right amount of spicy (you can order without any spice if you can't handle heat) paired with a classic Mexican Coca Cola. I recommend coming with a friend or bring a small group to try/share the fish, shrimp, and spicy shrimp tacos. I usually come at night and it's a lively scene with loud music, people at the bar ordering drinks, and a long line to order tacos. Do be mindful it is a small space so make sure you are on line to order tacos, since some already ordered and waiting to find an available seat inside. Overall amazing place to eat, unwind, and share with friends
The BEST fish tacos anywhere ! Sneak down the side hallway past the crowds in Chelsea Market for this no frills, limited menu that does it right. The secret sauce here might be the fact that they make the corn tortillas fresh to order which is the difference maker! Add fresh fish and veggies, a crazy good price and table size salads and you get a perfect bite!! Always worth a visit !
The food is always 100000% delicious always cooked fresh and the staff is amazing and nice. Ambiance is really nice it's always super busy which is understandable cause the place is so good ughhh
